Week 2 Update

I think that the 50 day challenge is actually starting to get easier!

At first I didn't love the taste of the protein shakes and I craved so much junk food. I would go to the store I want to put everything chocolate in my cart. I was even craving donuts one morning; which is odd because I don't even like those! But after the first 2 weeks I really don't crave sweets like I used to, my husband says the same thing too. I also find it is getting easier to go the gym 6 days a week. At first I had to find the motivation and would try to come up with excuses not to go; but once it is in my retinue it is actually a lot easier to commit to going every day. AND I am not getting as sore! The first few days I would die the day after a hard work out. Now I will be slightly sore but nothing like the first week and I even up the weight every week!

I dropped one more pound this week! So I am at 114lbs at 5'10. My husband thinks I am just about done losing weight and that I should start replacement the fat with muscle which means I might start gaining weight. A little bitter sweet I think. I love seeing the scale and watching the pounds come off so to watch the scale and see it gaining weight might be a little different. But I do want to put on more muscle which is why I am doing this whole thing!!

I worked out 6 days this week! Every day but Sunday! I am super proud of myself. :) I am even more proud about what I didn't eat on Sunday! It was my birthday on Monday so Sunday night we had a get together with family to celebrate mine and my brother-in-laws birthdays. There was so much yummy food there including these delicious cakes below...

And I didn't even have any! Not even a lick! Ha I felt pretty good about it!

But then Monday rolled around and since it was my birthday we went to the Melting Pot!

Probably not the best choice for the diet plan but since it was my birthday we did eat this..

So I did cheat on the diet slightly.. Boo! But I worked out extra hard for it!

Now let's see how strong I can be against the food at the Super Bowl Party! I am thinking I can do it! :)

And here is some motivation.. Love this!

  1. I don't understand why you're pushing yourself so hard and wanting to lose weight when you're most likely underweight for your height..

    1. I don't think it's a bad thing to seek self improvement ever! Love reading this blog because she's inspiring! McKi looks amazing and even though she's at my dream weight (seriously) she still wants to improve herself. Nothing wrong with wanting perfection! :)

    2. Just because I am thin doesn't mean I am healthy. A lot of people classify being healthy as thin which is not the case. I have been thin all my life and can pretty much eat whatever and still stay thin but I want to be healthy and gain muscle. I want to lose some of the fat I have from having babies and replace it with muscle which will actually make me gain weight instead of losing it. Like I said before it is not really a numbers game but instead when I feel and look like I am in good shape and have good muscle definition. :)

  2. It's wonderful you're being so healthy by lifting and eating right!

  3. Isn't it crazy how fast things tone up and weight starts flying off when you couple cardio with lifting and eating right? My friend Kalen (above) referred your blog to me. Congrats and keep it up! Question, what does your diet consist of? Just healthy eating?

    1. I have a protein shake for breakfast and lunch then a balanced meal for dinner right now. Then healthy snacks during the day. If you click the fitness tap at the top you can see an idea of my meals each day. :)

  4. Yes I think some lean muscle would look wonderful on your tall frame!! You have done a great job at losing the fat, now its time to build a strong body!! I think the protein shakes and weight lifting are the perfect route! Just make sure to add in long/yoga stretching to help keep you lean instead of bulky. Starting to look a little too thin love!

    1. Haha getting the full 8 hours of sleep is part of the 30 day challenge! I have a membership to Gold's Gym so I take the kids with me to the gym to the daycare. They love to go and play with the other kids while I work out. If I can't take them there for whatever reason I will switch off with my husband. We usually go at about 6:00 at night. Once you get in the retinue of going it is a lot easier to make it every time! :)

And I work out with my husband most days, we call it a "gym date" ha! Once you get in the retinue of going and you make it a priority it is a lot easier to make it every time! And going to the gym actually make me have more energy to do more things! :)

Hopefully like you, the workouts will become easier as the days go by! I am naturally thin too [with two kids also!], I just want to tone up and look great for my wedding this October! :) Keep up the great work, you are doing amazing! :)

    1. I have heard awesome things about that! I have been tempted to buy it for days that I wanted to work out at home instead of the gym! You will have to let me know how it goes!

  9. Awesome McKinli! Thanks for the inspiration...you seriously have a great body and I love this challenge you're doing. I'm stuck working out at home right now...my 14 month old cries after 30 minutes of being in the kid's zone. Sucks, but hopefully it's just a stage :) The gym is the best place for me to workout...oh well. Looking forward to future posts! Thanks!

    1. My little boy used to do that too! He would cry every time I dropped him off for like twenty minutes, broke my heart! But finally he got used to it and now he loves it. My little girl has always done great with it and never cried but we started her going there much younger than we did with my little boy.

  10. You look fantastic girl!! Do whatever makes you happy & healthy, I think it's absolutely great! Along with previous poster I am also doing the 30 day shred, but have decided to continue it to a 50 day challenge! I had my son 5 months ago and although I am naturally thin, I feel like my body needs some serious toning lol! Glad to know I'm not alone in this challenge and you're doing something similiar lol !! :)
